Rapid Response in Nairobi, Kenya Hotel Attack
Our forward leaning posture enabled a rapid response that resulted in an emergency relocation operation to safeguard multiple families.
A coordinated attack with gunmen using rifles and grenades on the DusitD2 Nairobi complex led to a standoff that continued through the night. Many people were killed or wounded while others were trapped in various parts of the buildings. Local authorities isolated the neighborhood, causing hundreds of individuals to be trapped inside the security cordon.
Baseload Group was referred by a travel management group to establish communications and assist five families visiting the location on holiday. The Baseload Group response team already had operational resources on standby and was able to immediately conduct a low-profile movement to the families’ location and then transport them safely and quickly through multiple layers of security cordons to hotels outside the city.
